Currently, I’m a Freelancer, Volunteer, Author, Coach, Cancer Survivor, “YES” Girl, and Kick-Ass Mom!
I am a real girl; I laugh and cry… in public and I’m oh-so-okay with that. I don’t know why – WHY??? – people feel adversely to demonstrating emotion – by way of crying – in public. I can’t explain clearly enough just how many conversations I’ve had with intelligent women about being seen crying in public.
I’m emotional. I stand up for what’s right and vehemently defend good choices. That being said, I am full of flaws stitched together with good intentions. If you’re looking for “perfect”, leave now! You won’t find it here – EVER.
Outside of being a “Mom”, I live for experiences that lead to enriched living and say “watch me” when you tell me I can’t do something. I have many years of experience working with brands like Time Warner Cable, Chapters/Indigo, Girl Guides of Canada, The Shopping Channel, and MuchMusic (to name a few) and have learned that you can have fun while working; it doesn’t all have to be serious. Let’s face it, we spend a lot of time with work and we should have some fun. And having co-created a few successful ventures breaking through start-up barriers fast, I have no regrets with what I’ve accomplished while being first a stay-at-home Mom. I’ve been a full-time Mom for 24 years and I’ve raised 3 awesome kids. They’re not perfect either, but they are good people. I LOVE my family and will do anything to protect them from harm… A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G. Don’t mess with my family. Really… don’t.
What makes me a “YES” Girl? Well for starters, taking a temp job COMPLETELY changed my life and so I learned early on that saying yes is exciting! Say YES people, JUST SAY YES! Looking back, some yes’s have led to the BEST experiences of my life.
Over the years I’ve also spent quite a bit of time on volunteering and on personal development and education. I believe that when you stop being charitable and learning, you stop growing and so while everything I’ve done hasn’t been a success, it has been an education.
My favourite quote of all is “Fall down seven times, stand up eight”. You just can’t keep me down for long, and my salvation during a hard day is tomorrow’s coming and I’ll have a fresh start.
Thanks for being curious enough to stop by and read a little about who I am.
Now go… do something awesome today!
FALL DOWN 7 TIMES. STAND UP 8.
